Cilacap – The Head of the Department of Farming and Agriculture for the Cilacap Regency, Ir. Gunawan MM., told that the rice productiveness in the Cilacap Regency has been increasing over years significantly. The improvement of the rice productiveness has been around 8.40%, namely from 59.03 quintals per acre in 2014 into 63.99 quintals per acre in 2015; in other words, the improvement has been about 4.96 quintals per acre.
“The rice production has also improved from 669,196 tons in 2014 into 888,644 tons in 2015 or around 27.10%,” he said on Tuesday, November 1st.
Another success that had been attained in the agriculture domain, he continued, was the achievement on the target of plantation area width from October to March 2015/2016 namely 74,470 acres in comparison to that from October to March 2014/2015; the improvement was around 9.33%.
With the success, the Department of Farming and Agriculture for the Cilacap Regency received an award from the Ministry of Agriculture in the form of Alsintan tools that might support the planting brigades and the planting brigades themselves consisted of 56 two-wheel tractor units, 11 four-wheel tractor units, 11 transplanter units and 13 water pump units.
Another success in the agriculture domain within the regency was the national award that had been won by the Alsintan Service Unit/UPJA Setyadadi, Bojong Village, Kawunganten Sub-Regency. The award was handed over in the commemoration of World Food Day in Boyolali on October 2016.
In addition, the development of agricultural business-level irrigation network (JITUT, Jaringan Irigasi Tingkat Usaha Tani) has also been improving over years. In 2014 the JITUT that had been constructed was 24,832 kms. The figure rose about 37,700 kms in 2015. Then, in 2016 the figure of JITUT that had been constructed would have been 43,025 kms.
In the farming, the number of meat production has also increased from 1,138.4 tons in 2014 into 1,187,54 tons in 2015 or around 4.31%.
Still another success in the agriculture domain was the achievement of the 1st Place for the Avocado Fruit Commodity for the Central Java Region Level Fruit Competition in 2015 and the 3rd Place of Pamelo Orange Fruit Contents in 2016. (*)
